Why I Give:

So My Money Makes a Difference and Goes for Something Good

Shirley Lisk believes everyone should have the power to improve their health. Often, that means having access to information, education, a place to exercise and health screenings. She also believes everyone should have access to the best health care available, the prescription medications they need, and a serene place to pray, meditate and heal. That’s why she supports Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley.

A long-time supporter, Shirley has contributed to many Foundation-supported projects and programs: the healing garden at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, the Sr. Margaret Mary Siegfried Ambulatory Pharmacy and, of course, St. Joe’s at the Mall, which she manages.

“I love to support anything for our hospital system,” Shirley says. “My philosophy is to be a blessing to others and you, too, will be blessed.” Shirley is even more inspired to give when she sees how her gift impacts the lives of those who benefit. Many of the regulars at St. Joe’s at the Mall have lost weight, found how fun it is to exercise and socialize with like-minded people, and often see overall improved well-being — all because her donation, combined with the gifts of others like you, make it possible. “I like to have my money go into something that’s good, something that makes a difference,” Shirley says.
